The Umpire Chest Protector Abdomen Extension for CP13/CP14 is the add-on lower coverage panel designed to extend the protective area of CP13 and CP14 series chest protectors downward — closing the gap between the bottom of the chest protector and the top of the umpire’s protective gear. Low pitches, short bounces, and foul balls that clip the top of the catcher’s gear can deflect upward at angle, reaching the umpire’s lower torso in the gap between a standard chest protector’s bottom edge and the top of the umpire’s pants. The abdomen extension closes this exposure point, providing meaningful additional lower-body protection for umpires who work in close to the plate and want the most comprehensive coverage available. Integrates cleanly with compatible CP13 and CP14 series protectors.
